Infographic: Do Movie Studios Matter?

iAcquire and SurveyMonkey collected data about how people find out about new movies and what they use to determine which movies are worth seeing. We found that social media is crucial in helping people decide whether or not they will go to the movies.

While movie studios are active on social media, their brand accounts often fall flat next to the social accounts of the individual movies they’re promoting. The solution we propose is that if studios engage with people on their brand’s channels more frequently, they would have a much easier time of promoting new movies instead of having to constantly be growing new channels for each movie that comes out.

  1. I get to know about new movies via the trailers from my community of blogger who do product reviews. Very true that studios are sitting on a goldmine of social potential.
