Despite advances in hearing aid technology, traditional devices limit the wearer’s ability to participate in certain activities. Especially risky to the device are events involving water, dust and shock. In order to understand if and how hearing aid wearers are curtailing their involvement in activities due to their traditional hearing device, Siemens Hearing Instruments fielded a survey in June 2011 in advance of the release of the first ever waterproof, dustproof and shock-resistant hearing aid, Aquaris™. Results show the need for a more robust hearing device to accommodate today’s active lifestyles. Brought to you by Siemens.
