The vacation experts at Florida rentals decided to determine once and for all which U.S. state is the best for family vacations. When families plan their vacation, they’re often choosing the destination based on some key factors. The team created a way to quantify these factors and rank the states accordingly. Here’s what those factors were:
- Hotel rooms per capita
- Restaurants per capita
- Museums per capita
- Total number of amusement parks
- Total miles of beaches
- Average annual temperature
- Cost of living
So, which state came out on top? It’s a victory for Florida Rentals because their home state came out on top! Florida’s miles of beaches, huge hotel selection, and top-tier amusement parks make it the most family-friendly destination in the U.S. Here are all the states in the top ten:
- Florida
- Wyoming
- North Dakota
- Hawaii
- Vermont
- Montana
- Maine
- Texas
- South Dakota
- Louisiana
Florida’s top attractions include the Orlando Eye and the Sea Life Orlando Aquarium, as well as nearby Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. There’s also Miami Beach, Daytona International Speedway, and plenty of top sports teams.
Wyoming might have been a surprise in the second spot, but it has a huge number of hotels, tons of beautiful natural scenery for camping, and over 30 museums.
These ten states were ranked at the bottom:
- Pennsylvania
- Delaware
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Connecticut
- Minnesota
- Arizona
- Massachusetts
- Maryland
- Utah
- Idaho
The states at the bottom of the list lacked destinations or had high cost of living prices or lack of places to stay. There’s beauty to be found in every state, but this infographic is family-focused with kids in mind! Every state at the top will offer ample accommodations and things that kids like to do best.
