Not only is Bernard Arnault the wealthiest person in all of France, but he’s the richest person in the world. The team at Madison Trust recently analyzed and utilized data from the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List to determine this ranking of the countries around the world ranked by the net worth of their richest person.
According to their research and infographic, only 76 countries from around the world had data actually available in order to create this ranking, and the results are specifically as of March 7, 2023. With a billionaire’s net worth constantly changing, even slightly, and the Real-Time Billionaires List from Forbes being updated throughout each day, this list is set to that date specifically.
According to their research, the ten countries that made up the top ten on this ranking included France, United States, Mexico, India, Spain, China, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, and Italy. Above them all, Bernard Arnault and his home country of France are in the top spot on this ranking, with Bernard Arnault and his family having a net worth of $214.4 billion as of March 7, 2023. Only one other country and individual on this ranking came in with a net worth of more than $100 billion, with second-ranked Elon Musk (and the United States) boasting a net worth of $186.1 billion.
Other top spots on the ranking included third-ranked Carlos Slim Helu and family of Mexico (net worth of $92.7 billion), Mukesh Ambani of India (net worth of $86.5 billion), Amancio Ortega of Spain ($76.9 billion), and Zhong Shanshan of China (with a net worth of $67.2 billion). Even the last ranked spot on this list, 76th-ranked Muhammad Aziz Khan of Bangladesh has a net worth of $1 billion, which is impressive no matter how you look at it, final spot on these rankings or not.
