The solar energy company that earns the most currently is JinkoSolar with revenue of $4.6 billion. Located in Shanghai, JinkoSolar is the largest solar panel manufacturer globally. In 2010, the company went public on the New York Stock Exchange, and today has residential and commercial customers all over the world, spanning countries like Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, China and Germany.
According to the research from SolarPower.Guide, it was found that the five solar energy companies earning the most based on revenue were;
- JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd. ($4.6 billion)
- Canadian Solar Inc. ($3.2 billion)
- First Solar Inc. ($3.1 billion)
- GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd. ($2.8 billion)
- SunPower Corp. ($1.9 billion).
Other high-earning solar energy companies include SolarEdge Technologies Inc. at $1.6 billion, Xinyi Solar Holdings Ltd. at $1.2 billion, and Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. at $1.2 billion.
Per the data on this visualization from the team at Solar Power Guide, the two most successful solar energy companies based on revenue are collectively found across just 7 countries – China, Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, Israel, the United Kingdom and Germany.
China is home to more of these top solar energy companies than any other country in the world with three: first-ranked JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd., seventh-ranked Xinyi Solar Holdings Ltd., and eighth-ranked Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd.
