Recent research by Italian Dual Citizenship has revealed the passports that offer the greatest and least access to international travel. Leading the pack is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) passport, which allows its citizens to enter 179 countries without a visa, making it the most powerful passport globally. Following closely are passports from Spain, which ranks second, and a tie for third place among several European nations, including France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland. Other notable passports in the top tier include those from Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Poland, Ireland, Denmark, Portugal, Norway, and Greece.
In contrast, the rankings reveal the weakest passports, which offer minimal travel freedom. The most restrictive passports belong to Syria and Afghanistan, with citizens of Syria able to visit only nine countries without a visa, while Afghans can access just six. Other countries featuring low passport power include Iraq, Somalia, Pakistan, Yemen, Bangladesh, the Palestinian Territories, North Korea, and Libya.
