What are the universities and colleges that can claim that they have the more alumni that are now CEOs of Fortune 500 companies? There are quite a bit!
From the team at Academic Influence comes through infographic that looks at which colleges and universities have the most alumni who are now CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. Per their research, it was found that Harvard University was the clear leader of all other universities, with 41 alumni who are now CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. In fact, Harvard has so many alumni in this position, that their total is nearly double that of the second and third ranked universities in this study, specifically the University of Pennsylvania (23) and Stanford University (22).
The list of Fortune 500 companies that are headed by alumni of Harvard University includes JPMorgan Chase, Amazon, Citigroup, General Electric, McDonald’s, General Mills, Kellogg, Prudential Financial (u.S.) and Honeywell International, among so many others. According to this study conducted by Academic Influence, it was found that 35 of the 41 alumni now leading Fortune 500 companies as CEOs all completed graduate programs.
Of the ten colleges and universities with the most alumni who are now CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, six of them have at least 15 alumni, particularly Harvard University (41), University of Pennsylvania (23), Stanford University (22), Northwestern University (20), Columbia University (18), University of Chicago (15) and University of Michigan (12).
This infographic from the team at Academic Influence also includes data on which schools have the most undergraduate program alumni who are now the CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. According to their data, it was found that the top three colleges and universities in this regard were Cornell University and Harvard University (both with 9), closely followed by University of Pennsylvania (8). Some of the more notable companies that Cornell University alumni now lead include Procter & Gamble, Publix Super Markets, Wayfair, Carrier Global and Marriott International.
