Repairing cracked concrete is easy and inexpensive. Follow these three easy steps to repair any cracked concrete up to 1/4 inch wide.
Step one: using a masonry chisel and hammer, break off any thin/brittle concrete in or near the crack. Use a leaf blower, pressure washer or water hose to remove any dirt or loose material in or around the crack.
Step two: allow the crack to dry then fill it with a self-leveling, flexible, waterproof caulk. Make sure the ambient temperature is between 50 and 100 degrees F. Smooth with your finger or a putty knife.
Step three: let the caulk cure. Caulk cure times vary by manufacturer but in general, it shouldn’t be driven on for three to five days. It may be ready for light traffic in as little as one hour though.
