Here are some ways on how to unblock a toilet without using a plunger. A plunger can spread germs if you are not careful with what it touches. Even if it does not touch anything and you wave it around, the splash from the dirty liquids and materials that it worked on might be spread to people and other surfaces. So, here are the alternatives to a plunger:
COLA
This thirst quenching drink also does wonders with your toilet clog. Drain the water in the toilet Buy 2 liters of coca cola and pour it slowly into the toilet. Wait for 3 hours for the liquid to sink in and unclog the toilet. For stubborn blockage, repeat this procedure again by purchasing the same quantity of cola to pour. You may add hot water to reinforce the unblocking action of the beverage.
VINEGAR AND BAKING SODA
This is actually an age old method. Extract all excess water from the toilet bowl. Pour a cup of vinegar followed by a cup of baking soda into the toilet bowl. Wait for 5 minutes then follow this up with a kettle of boiling water for another 2 minutes. If it still doesn’t unclog, repeat this process 3 or more times until your objective of unblocking the toilet drain is achieved.
A HOSEPIPE OR A HANGER
Be prepared to get dirty with this method. For disinfection after this process, have handy nearby medical soap, rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer for you to clean up. Put on rubber gloves. Use a fairly rigid hanger or a hosepipe to dislodge the clog. Keep on repeating this procedure until you unblock the toilet. Better still, move the hanger left to right, up and down, or circular motion, and vice versa, until you succeed in unblocking the drain.
There are other methods like wet and dry vacuum cleaner, dish soap and others that are also good alternatives to the plunger.
