Feng Shui – What Not To Do In The Bedroom

Feng Shui is an ancient art form that helps people understand how to organize their lives to maximise the flow of positive energy.

When most people think of Feng Shui, they think of rules involving what to place where, and what furnishings to choose. While that’s an important part of Feng Shui, the “what not to do” rules are just as important.

This informative infographic describes some of the most common Feng Shui mistakes:

  • Heavy items above the bed – this is a big no-no, and not just because the item might come crashing down and kill you in your sleep! Heavy items such as ceiling fans, chandeliers and wind chimes are imposing and create oppressive energies that will negatively impact your life.
  • Ceiling beams – putting your bed underneath ceiling beams is a bad idea. The beams “slice” your energy, and prevent you from recharging mentally while you sleep. If you can’t rearrange your bedroom, place a canopy over your bed to block out the negative energies of the beams.
  • Under-bed storage – when you replace your bed, opt for one without storage underneath. Chi flows around and under your bed, and if there’s no space under the bed you’ll lose out on all that energy flow.
